Giving Books a Second Life
BoiBecho (Bengali for "Sell Books") started from a simple observation: thousands of used books sit idle after being read, while students and readers struggle to find affordable copies. There was no trusted digital platform connecting the two sides in the local market.
We built the entire platform from scratch — a React + TypeScript frontend with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui, backed by an Express 5 + MongoDB API secured with JWT access/refresh tokens and Google OAuth. Sellers list books with images uploaded directly to AWS S3 via presigned URLs. Buyers browse, save favourites, and message sellers through a Socket.IO-powered real-time inbox. The whole stack runs in Docker on both ends.
